Job Overview


We are seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join Texthelp’s new North American Accounting and Finance team. The North American operation is Texthelp’s largest revenue-generating region and in recent years has grown significantly to the point where it requires a dedicated accounting and finance function. 


The recent growth of the company has Texthelp as an established company operating in a very fast-paced, startup-like environment. The North American accounting and finance team will be supporting the company’s growth by adopting, enhancing and driving the financial close process for the corporation's North American operations as well as managing all other local financial operations and regulatory compliance. 


Reporting directly to the recently appointed VP of Finance will be the Accounting Supervisor who will be tasked with owning the financial close process, continuous process improvement, implementation of internal controls, supporting various system and regulatory projects, and much more. This role will partner with corporate functions of FP&A, Consolidation/Reporting, and other internal stakeholders in managing and communicating deadlines and interdependencies with a focus on delivering high-quality financial information.

The ideal candidate would be a current senior accountant ready for the next step into a supervisory role or a current accounting supervisor looking for additional finance/accounting exposure (SaaS, FP&A, project management, etc).


Main Responsibilities


  • Taking responsibility and overseeing the monthly close process including financial statement compilation and preparation of management reports/analysis.

  • Manage and oversee the accounting function and daily operations, including revenue recognition, accounts receivable, accruals, intercompany activity and all other GL functions.

  • Own general accounting function for North America, which includes preparation and review of the accounting entries, account reconciliations and flux analysis.

  • Partner with the global accounting, financial operations, financial systems, and FP&A teams to coordinate and communicate interdependencies, monitor the achievement of close process milestones, and achieve timely resolution of issues.

  • Support external audit activities and audit preparation.

  • Drive process improvement initiatives that fully leverage system capabilities, improve transparency, and control, and accelerate close and reporting timelines.

  • Maintain and ensure ongoing compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

  • Mentors and trains team members.

  • Assist or lead various other ad-hoc accounting-related projects.


Essential Criteria 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • 3+ years’ experience in global accounting, preferably with a focus on accounting and financial reporting.

  • Experience with ERP and reporting systems is required.


Desirable Criteria 


  • Prior SaaS business experience preferred.

  • Experience working with stakeholders/partners at all levels, globally, and across the organization.

  • Demonstrable history of accountability and sound judgement; highest ethical standards and focus on quality and attention to detail.

  • Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Supervisory role.
